Swift Thoughts
Design
The design of the Mpow H12 headphones is great. Simple and uncluttered with clean flowing lines and subtle branding.
The ear-cups aren’t huge and cumbersome looking (but sufficient for most ear sizes). There are small L and R’s written inside to show you which way around they go.
Audio Performance
The audio performance of the Mpow H12’s is very impressive for a headphone in this price bracket, let alone one with active noise cancelling as well.
The balance of high and low tones is just right. There is a clear audio signature across the soundstage with a decent amount of bass – excellent for most audio tastes including Rock, Metal, Jazz, Classical, Country etc. Even at high volumes the audio was distortion free.
The active noise cancelling feature is particularly impressive. Whilst not as powerful as some premium priced headphones, they do cancel a large amount of external noise including the drone of buses and trains. This is largely due to the clever dual microphone set up. There is one microphone on the outside and one on the inside of the ear cup. This captures ambient noises more accurately which in turn cancels them more effectively.
Build Quality
The build quality of the Mpow H12 headphones is very reasonable. The swivelling and folding joints feel re-assuringly solid and the plastic shell has a soft-touch finish.
As with all headphones, especially ones in this price bracket, I’d say: “treat them well and they’ll treat you in return”. 🙂
Comfort
The ear pads are soft and squishy and didn’t cause me any problems. The headband doesn’t clamp around your head which is great for longer listening sessions.
The headband is also easily adaptable for just about any head size.
Functionality
There are plenty of things to like about the H12 headphones. The buttons around the ear-cups are pleasingly tactile and intuitive. Wireless pairing is quick and easy, with a confirmatory audio voice cue. Even phone calls work well with clear discernible audio.
The latest model has Bluetooth 5.0 technology, which delivers better sound clarity and an improved wireless range (up to 20m). And lastly, the Mpow H12 headphones have a 30 hour battery life which is a welcome improvement on the 25hr of its predecessor.

FAQs
Q: Do they leak sound?
A: In most cases, no. Only if you dial the volume above 70-80% in quiet surroundings can you hear a little bit.
Q: Is there any noticeable audio lag?
A: In most cases no. Watching TV, Youtube, Netflix etc is absolutely fine. It’s only with very low latency sources that you may notice a small difference. ie. gaming. But in this situation you can always switch to wired mode to avoid issues.
Q: Can I turn noise cancelling on without audio?
A: Yes. There is a separate button for the ANC feature.
Q: Can I use them whilst they are charging?
A: Yes.
Q: Are they waterproof?
A: No.
Q: Does ANC work in both wired and wireless modes?
A: Yes!
Q: Can I pair the headphones with my Smart TV?
A: Yes, as long as your TV supports Bluetooth connections.
